My Vision

We face challenging times as a community and a country. But Central Oregon is exceptional, and we will confront the future as we always have, with optimism and a cooperative spirit. As your State Senator, I will always show up. We must prioritize economic opportunity, affordable housing, and safe communities. I will be a champion in Salem for the environment, wildfire resiliency, working families, reproductive healthcare, gun safety, and civil rights. I have served as a pragmatic and collaborative problem solver on Bend City Council and I am ready to fight for Central Oregon in the State Senate. I would be honored to have your support.

Public Servants Show Up

Central Oregon deserves a Senator who will go to work, even when the issues get tough. Our community works too hard and we have too many challenges to entrust our representation to senators who walk out on us and the legislative process. Central Oregon needs a State Senator who reflects our values on human rights, reproductive health care, and protecting our democracy. I will stay at the table and fight for Central Oregon, no matter how hard it gets.

Safe Communities For Everyone

As a City Councilor in Bend, former Chairman of the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, and a member of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest Project Steering Committee, I have worked to ensure that Central Oregonians are safe from catastrophic wildfires, safe in their communities, and safe getting around. I’ve fought for additional resources for our Rural Fire District and the hard working first responders in our region. Together we’ve achieved world class emergency response times in urban and rural Central Oregon. Together we’ve built safer transportation infrastructure that works for all users. As an appellate court judge and a member of the Deschutes County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC), I believe public safety is a community responsibility. Together we can ensure Central Oregon is a safe place for everyone.

Housing and Homelessness

Our most critical challenge continues to be the cost of housing in Central Oregon. We must ensure that working families in Central Oregon can afford to live here. Central Oregon must lead the rest of the state with solutions to homelessness that work for the entire community. Clean, safe communities work for everyone—those struggling and those who want to help.

Progress and Pragmatism

I have had the honor of serving our region and Tribal Communities and Governments throughout the West. As a public servant, I answer to all of the people of Central Oregon. We need a senator who is a problem-solver and looks past partisan divides.

About Anthony

Anthony has served as a Bend City Councilor since 2020, including as Mayor Pro Tem in 2022. He serves as an attorney for Tribal governments and small businesses and is also the Chief Judge of the Warm Springs Court of Appeals. After graduating from law school and residency, Anthony and his wife, Dr. Kate Broadman, moved to Bend to raise a family, build a small business, and serve Central Oregon.

Anthony has served Tribal housing authorities and regulatory agencies and works regularly to resolve conflicts with the federal government, and local and state governments. He serves on the Deschutes County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC), on the Board of EDCO, as Board President of the Horner Cycling Foundation, as ex officio member of the Downtown Bend Business Association Board of Directors, and as member of the Deschutes Collaborative Forest Steering Committee. He has served as chairman of the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and the Oregon State Bar Indian Law Section, as well as on the Grace First Lutheran Church Council. He is an avid cyclist, skier, and hunter and the father of three daughters in Bend public schools.
